ok with the upcoming smog i dont want to deal with the whole issue of removing the comp and reinstalling it and then worry about road side inspections. what i want to know is how well will the smarty and a set of 200hp injectors spool a silver bullet? what tune is best for street ability?

Its gonna take them a couple of yrs to fully implement the smog laws. I wouldn't worry bout it to much. Don't think you will like the smarty on an auto or atleast I didn't. When I stacked one on an edge, I lost a half second in the quarter

Why would you have to remove the comp when you do smog testing??? Just turn it off....

they do a visual test to make sure there is no aftermarket tuner. plus the edge comp is illegal in california.

loli already have that kit. so looks like someone got the new intake done?!? got any pics besides the aviator?

Smarty is Known for its low end fueling. Prolly not the best combo for large injectors and a silver bullet. Why not mount the box out of sight? Smarty would be good for its half power setting tho. No smoke in that mode.

i cant just mount it out of sight, the techs are all trained on what to look for when searching for a performance adding chip.

im guessing your in california? i would just get the heck out of that state!....lol

i wouldnt worry about the smog regulations at all lol cause diesel only put out 3 emissions while gas engines put out 7 its a joke to think those little smart cars dont put out more emissions than our trucks we really need to do something about this and im gona make this aware to all of you so we can say and start doing something about these dumb regulations plus you can get aftermarket cats and they actually dont have much restriction at all and i wouldn't get rid of your edge and i would just get a good aftermarket cat

and i guess you just gona have to keep unpluging and pluging in your chip plus its only like once a year and if you really wanted to you could figure out how to hide it

Trevor you should call Erik and get some dyno time and compare the two to see which one works best.

Another thing you can do is keep both, put the Smarty on a even# and use the Comp for timing and wire tap...might be a killer stack.

there gonna OBD2 scan our trucks also, i know a smarty wont show up when you set it back so the stock setting but idk about the half power mode ?? :nail:

that does us no good

a buddy of mine down here in fresno has an 03 with twins, injectors and electronics, he still has all of his stock parts so he says hes just gonna spend a couple days every 2 years to re-stock his truck then mod it up again, seems like too much work :nail:
