boss man bought it brand new and it has 10000 miles on it. if I rev it it will put out a pretty decent cloud of smoke, it aint supposed to do that is it? driving down the road and if you floor it, it will smoke pretty well and have a slight stream. no cel and it runs good, whats goin on?
 
The dpf might be cracked, are the tail pipes black???
 
yeah they are black and their is even soot on the corner of the flat bed
 
Yep the DPF is cracked. Mine was cracked for about 2 months before I did the DPF delete, I got better mileage and less regens. I wouldn't worry about it.
 
My truck is doing the same thing, i'm going to the dealer to get it looked at tomorrow morning. . .I'll let you know what i find out. My concern is w/a cracked dpf, if i do go into regen, will it smoke like a beast while regenning?
 
After 4 hours of sitting around at the dealership, the consensus was I have a bad DPF.
 
can a bad DPF really dp anything bad??? besides smoke like a diesel should:st:
 
no, it actually has increased fuel economy due to less regens. . .but depending on how bad it's cracked, it can make regens a lot smokier.
