I have a Valair clutch that I may try to put in my daily driver. It is a double disc. It has solid hub discs. Me and a friend are kinda in a disagreement one the clutch on whether or not to use it. He is sayin that the solid hubs will cause the tranny to fail at some point because there is nothing to take some of the vibration and shock from the motor.( He has only had to replace 2 trannys in trucks and jus so happen they both had solid hub discs) This does make since to me but on the other hand when I talked to Dan this mornin he said he doesn't make a spring hub for a NV4500 because he has never had any problems caused by the solid hubs. I'm wantin to know if any of you have broken anything because of the solid hubs or because of the spring hubs? Thanks in advance.

Chris

By the way Great customer service from Dan. One of the best Ive gotten the chance to do bussiness with.

I'm running an unsprung Double Disk in my Ford 5 speed from Dan and have no problems with it. And I daily drive it. You should be fine.

i had a solid disk in my old f250 and after prolly 3 or 4 thousand miles the center of the clutch twisted from the outer feramic disk! you need some sort of dampeners i would assume. or maybe it's just a ford thing

got 2 years and 40,000 miles and never had a prob with a dd solid disc clutch anything can break depends on driver

with a solid disc, letting them idle long kills the discs due to vibrations
