i got a 98.5 24v cummins. built auto tranny, 7x.014 injectors, ii hot rod vp, smarty programmer, silver 64 turbo. helix 3 cam. now it sounds good at idle and just revving it up. but when it gets to high rpm it sounds like its missing out and sounds horrible. about like its running out of fuel but it never gets under 12psi. any ideas?

also the sound only comes around when tc is locked in third or its in overdrive and you really get on it. so just when it has a load on it.

theres actually a lack of smoke. so its running out of fuel but im not losing fuel pressure. doesnt make sense

Get some valve springs... the valves are probably floating... Usually happens at 45+ psi along with rpm...

i got hamilton 110s in it. put them in same time as the cam

i have a similar set up and similar sound, except mine is a manual trans, but mine doesn't sound "horrible" just not very good sounding. looking for a solution...

i ordered a boost fooler. on my dyno sheets as soon as my turbo spools it starts defueling cause it hits 45 psi instantly. it fixed it so im happy with it

My 98.5 does it when it warms up in park or neutral under load it's smooth I still havnt figured it out I'm leaning toward ecm
