Copied and pasted from various parts of the "Starting a new club in SW Wisconsin " thread on dieselplace.com

We have started up a new pulling club in Southwest Wisconsin. The name of the club is Southwest Wisconsin Pullers. It will consist of 3 classes- 2.6 Diesel Truck, 3.0 Diesel Truck, and 480 c.i. Open Stock Gas 4x4. We are also looking for one or two tractor classes and even semi's if we could get the interest. Any questions call Guy Nelson at 608-632-3178.

Okay Guys..... Here is the 2.6 Rules

Our 2.6 rules are set and are not exactly the same as the national rules but we feel that it's what's best for our club. As far as the turbo rule in the 2.6 we added more language so there is no gray areas. If you don't like it or can't meet the rules in the 2.6 ...you have the option to pull in the big class.

Now the big class.....our rules will stay the same as we have them. But we are going to let the 3.2 twins or singles pull with us...but they must be bushed down to a 3.0 and be stock drivelines....we are going to handicap them 300 lbs. One of the reasons for doing this is there are guys that have built their trucks to meet the rules....and I think it is only fair to them and plus they should have a slight power advantage over a true 3.0 charger. Our goal is not to have these trucks in 4-5th place but to compete on the same level and make for a better show.

You can pay a one time hook fee for the 2.6 class will be $30. You will be eligible for the payback...but not points. After the one time hook you will have to be a member which is $150 for the year or season. We will deduct your one time hook fee from the membership fee.

The open stock and the 3.0 diesel will be handled the same way except the one time hook fee will be $50
Remember this......there is no hook fees at pulls.

Test & Tune in Richland Center on May 15th around 3:00. You can pay the member fees at that time or the first pull as of now is Soldiers Grove June 19th. There will be pulling all day and night....South West Pullers will be pulling in the evening around 7:00. There will be added payback at this pull. The top three in all classes including tractors, trucks and semi's will get a plaque with their picture in it that day.

Thanks Jeff, looking forward to pulling with you and your friends.

I forgot to post this before but let's get a poll started of the trucks that are interested in pulling with us. If you are interested or have any questions, pm me (Bret Halvorson) or email me at (turbogmc@hotmail.com) with your name, kind of truck you will use (model and 2.6 or 3.0), email address and your best contact number. This way we can get a good list of the possible pullers and keep people informed that may not check this page too often for updates. I know Jamie Larse (Cummins buff and 2.6 class rep) knows at least half a dozen trucks that have verbally committed, I myself (Bret Halvorson) know of at least the same on my end. I am sure our guys have spread the word as well and will bring even more trucks. There is a website in the making but for now we will just have to correspond here. On a side note, we need to get out and pull our trucks (2.6 trucks) this year and make a good showing. This is our chance to really prove this class otherwise it willl be forgotten in our area for good. But, from what we can see so far this is looking pretty positive this year!

Thanks Jeff, lookin forward to it. If you can think of anybody else also that might be able to pull, please give any info you can as well if they don't mind so we can keep as may people we can in the loop.

I talked to Jason about Churning Dirt in Richland Center on July 24th and if we could get 6 or more open driveline trucks we could add $1500 payback and split up the big class into two classes for Southwest Wi PULLERS.
Also, on Friday the 23rd... they will be running Badger State Tractor 3.0 open driveline class. It would be worth pulling both nights!!

I plan on making one or two i really think it will be the churning dirt show. i wish u guys the best of luck. I wanna come up there and test the truck out against some dedicated 2.6 trucks.

Thanks for the interest! We will be glad to have you and hopefully some of your friends. Thanks, Bret

Just a reminder the Red Neck Rally is this Saturday May 15th in Richland Center. There will be alot going on snowmobile grass drags, mud boggs, and truck and tractor pull test and tunes. Southwest Pullers will be there with their 2.6 and open diesel classes and 480 cu. open stock gas. Hope you all can make it...we are signing up members, taking photos for our web site and handing out schedules. Hope to see you all Saturday afternoon...any questions call Guy at 608-632-3178
