I really haven't looked to deep into my problem yet, but sometimes when i'm driving down the road my speedo will start waving at me, going back and forth, and some times it just dies for a little bit and goes to zero... the problem is intermittent, sometimes the speedo works fine. I'm gonna start cheap with the speed sensor, but I was wondering if anyone has had the same issue?

I would pop open the differential and just have a look. Bearing issues could cause similar issues, but replace the speed sensor/look for damaged wires would be the best place to start.

Yea i'm gonna start there, i doubt its my diff... i recently had the cover off to inspect it and it looked like new, but i never really thought of that. Here's a question, which speed sensor should be replaced? The one on the diff or on the tail shaft of the trans? I know the one on the rear is considered ABS, but i'm just unsure.

Mine has been doing that and figured it was sensor related, but the other day it wouldn't move from zero but I tapped the cluster and it came up. So I'm wondering if mine is in the cluster.

Yup speed sensor mine was doing it last week and I replaced it all is good now and the brake light went off as well

Just an update... drove up to Syracuse last week, and while i was up there I encountered a bunch of issues. Got the no bus on the odometer, my tach started doing the same thing as the speedo, and the check engine light came on. I plug my smarty in and ended up having 12 dtc codes. The thing still ran fine around town, but as soon as i got goin down the highway it started cutting out on me and randomly defueling. So i did some searching on here, and quickly found that my positive cable came off one of my batteries, tightened it up, reflashed the ecm to stock with the Smarty. Now everything's working including the speedo!
