Where on the 2001-2002 does it pick up your speedo reading at the rear or on the tranny, im looking for a Dana 80 to swap out my D70 in my 2001 and need to know what years will work for my truck.Cause i think the older year trucks have shorter axels and wont work but im not sure.

If anyone knows where I might be able to find one a PM would be greatly appreciated.

Thank's Brett

Rear axle has an ABS/speed sensor in it.

Yeah so it works off of the tires right cause i got the axles out of it and caps on the end to keep the oil in and was riding down the road with just front wheel drive and i still have my speedo, i thought it worked of the ring gear so i need to find a 2000 -02 dana 80 for my speedo to hook up right? Or will an older one work?

I know it's still there on my '98. Maybe someone else knows if 96 or 97 was the changeover year?

Chris

Yeah the ABS light is on and the brake light is on too.

98 was the switch over year i belive. mine has the rear pickup sensor

Lookin to go pick up a 98 dana 80 tomorrow, and my friend said to double check about the axel lengths cause he had a 96 and 2002 and said he tried switching tires around and said the new wheels on the 96 were tucked in under the truck alot and didn't look right and he tried the 96 wheels on the 2002 and said the stuck out farther, so if anyone knows for sure if the lengths are the same please let me know. So i dont get the wrong rear.
Thanks Brett
