Spike TV, xtreme 4x4, Trucks! bully dog dyno. Some fummins

Who the heck does the technical information for these shows? who researches them... They must just "take a guess" at things. This show marked new on my comcast, so it's less then 12 months old in taping I'm sure. They (bully dog, the leader in diesel technology) stated that diesel trucks are making 800hp now! Really? my version of now is more like 1400hp. Factor in when it might of been taped vs. now, put that down to 1200hp "now". I think the average truck is at 800hp.

So then there this Fummins excursion. "I'm hoping for 500hp". This dyno upset the guy at 420hp.. Yeah., you take a stock CR (assuming stock, has to be) and put a bully dog on it, what did you expect? It's not a Smarty :) I'll keep "you must of had someone else do all the work for ya" comments outa this topic.

Then there's "trucks" building Cheep Jeep. WTF? Get a real truck and swap a turbo or something retards!

Every week I get around to watching Spike, I'm discsted with these shows. Muscle car is a joke, trucks is retared, xtreme 4x4 is cool 50% of hte time. HP TV is ok most of the ime.

I've caught Stacy Davids new show one Sunday for a marthon, Still cool! :) That guy knows now to build a vehicle!
 
I agree with ya. muscle car is ok most of the time i like the sheet metal work. but trucks is retarded. HP TV is ok and i just like watchen 4x4 for one reason:D:hump:
 
Gearz is a very cool show. I always like Stacey Davids build ups

ya those look like a emmy awarded show compared to Truck U. Mow thats a joke! But i got to give it to them, that was the first time they did anything with diesels without gale banks hovering over them the whole show! Oh and dont get me started on some of the other shows like the NOPI show and Livin the Low Life. Makes me want to jump off my house!

Bad thing is I havent seen a new GEARZ in a long time. too bad, that show beats them all hands down!
 
Ever since Stacey David left Trucks went to crap. They had that macho bald guy with the voice that sounded like he has never cleared his throat, but I haven't seen him anymore. I guess they finally got rid of him. Good thing, it was either that or I jump through the screen and cut his vocal cords out.

I like HP tv, but I miss Chuck Hanson. Joe Elmore is pretty cool.]

4x4 is okay
 
you guys liked Stacy david ? He is a tool . If they would just focus on building stuff and leave the comments out then the shows would be better. All the shows seem like are long ads anyways.

i said the exact same thing "diesels are making 800hp?" WOW i never knew that!!! I agree that "Trucks" is so stupid anymore. i saw an episode where at the end they were going to do a milage test and report back in a few weeks. well i never did see the results but they were keeping track by monitoring the overhead readout!!:bang i mean come on!! they must have never got the memo about the overhead readouts being inaccurate! when my truck was stock it was reading around 19mpg in stop and go traffic. once a downloaded my diablosport(sold it for a smarty) it said i was getting 25mpg. wow that means that the programmer added 6mpg. Thats pretty dang good!!:hehe:

Well most people seem to like him. I've always thought he was good to watch, knows his stuff and if makes the shows he hosts interesting.
 
Stacey David's Gearz comes on at 11:30pm PST Thursdays on Speed channel. As far as the shows on the Powerblock goes, HP TV is pretty much the same thing every week(gas engine builds with a dyno test). Muscle Car is always paint and body 101. Its been that way ever since Lou left the show. Trucks is paint and body 101 every other week with some fluff in between. Extreme 4x4 is starting to become a shortened episode of American Chopper ever since the LMM Duramax build a few weeks back. They spent 10 minutes of a 22 minute and 30 second show rebuilding some old black couple's roof on their house. More focusing on charity work and not really working on their projects or doing a brief overview of what they're gonna do and having the behind the scenes guys doing all the work when they're not taping the show. Its also been that way ever since Jessi left the show. The Powerblock is starting to become like weekday daytime TV where its the same regurgitated crap over and over again. OK, this rant is finally over. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

were any of yall on the forums awhile back that powerblock had? i was, then one day i needed some info on a car, and they were gone! made me a little mad! and other than 4x4 and Hp bein tolerable to watch, it all sucks! i used to actually look forward to watching those shows, but now i dont waste my time!
 
Stacey was extremely talented with body and fab work. He left that show sucked.

Horsepower TV has always sucke big time. I dont truct a man that tell me how to rebuild an engine with perfectly clean hands.

When did they loose Jessi on 4x4?

There's a blog about it on her official website. She's now building custom choppers for an all female building crew. There's also a blog on her site telling about how she's made an appearance on an episode of Truck U on Speed. The two idiots that are on the show don't know how to fabricate so they needed her to fab up the exhaust on the Jeep rockcrawler project they're building.

The way i think of it, we are a small minority of US motorsports. Walk into any AutoZone, OReillys, Napa, or Advanced Auto parts....they all still think diesels are slow and big. I even showed some OReillys guys my twins on my 05 with my 579hp dyno sheet. They said i wasted so much money cause this other guy with Banks stuff on his 6.0 ford makes 600 rwhp.

Even in the diesel world, we are still a minority but growing rapidly. Theres always some chump with a 500hp or 600hp dmax or powerchoke simply because they have a bullydog or my favorite is "superchips."


I kinda like this "secret society" of diesel owners. I laugh at the morons and usually come write about it on Comp so we can all laugh LOL

My local OReilly's are a little more clued in.. they know they don't know chit about diesels and don't try to prove it with a buddy of a friend :) They are a little more expensive by a few pennies then the pepboys down the road for a few things, but I go to them cuz they are good people.
 
i went to the nw mopart nats a week ago. we had a hand full of trucks there. the gasser guys were copletely in awe! hell half the guys still think ya need a big block in the tow rig...
 
Stacey david knows his stuff I got to look at project copperhead a few months ago and this truck was amazing the man really knows what he was doing, although I was super disappointed when he decided to put a hemi in project power wagon instead of a cummins. The shows on spike tv powerblock just suck now especially xtreme4x4 those guys are idiots first with the banks build that took forever then nobody ever saw the debute episode, then with their project ford ranger baja truck that the cracker jack weld and bracket failed and the whole front axle rolled up underneat the truck and the front end came smashing into the ground at 50mph. Horsepower still is okay though.
 
Phil and I got to hang out with Lou from Muscle Car over the weekend. Lets just say that there are reasons that most of the good hosts have left Spike......
 
I liked Lou from Muscle car. Hes a bit wacky, but not as arrogant or timid as the other hosts. Seemed like he knew his stuff and Enjoyed cars. Most of those guys seem like they just do it as another job and not for the love of building things.

Has anyone seen Funk master Flex's show on ESPN? Mow thats realy bad!!!!
