Ok my 99 had a nasty pull to the left under braking so I picked up 2 new calipers, Performance Friction pads, & 99 3500 rear wheel cylinders from O'Reillys this weekend.

Got started on install last night, didn't get finished until tonight for lack of correct size brake line wrench. Initial test drive leaves me wondering....pedal seems kind of spongy now...press down..kinda soft...continue to press a little harder and WOA there she comes....but at least its in a straight line now.

I bled all 4 corners from farthest to closest to master cylinder, so I'm wondering what could be up? :what::what:

EDIT: Forgot truck has Bendix Slotted front rotors still in great shape, rear shoes also in great shape.

Man to me it sounds like you still have air. I know you said you bled the system but I have dont the same thing. Damn near replaced all the brake parts on a truck, I just didnt spend enough time bleeding them. Sure your help is pushing down and holding it till you tighten the fitting? And just to be sure, you didnt run the resivor empty when bleeding right? Asking cause I have dont that stupid mistake too.

I think there is a little more to it w/ ABS and the manual makes it confusing. I finally asked a friend who worked at a 4X4 shop where they lifted lots of late models with ABS and he said gravity bleeding is the only way to go. One wheel at a time, crack a bleeder with a line into a container w/ some brake fluid in it, pop the cap on the MC, drink a few beers and repeat 3 more times.

After all new brakes including 1 ton wheel cylinders in the rear I've never been able to get a good pedal back. I'll try the gravity bleeding method when I have a spare afternoon. If that fails I'm going to check into pressure bleeding at a shop.

Did u adjust the rear drums

I did when I installed the wheel cylinders. Its been rougly 2 wks now and from what little I've got to drive it seems to have worked itself out. See I posted this on a Monday evening Tuesday my girlfriends motor went out in her blazer so she's been driving my truck ever since.....well until my vp took a dump Saturday night! :bang:
