Spray pattern

I see alot of talk about 370 marines and the 2 biggest downfalls seem to be that there a "dirty" injector and they have the wrong spray pattern. Alot of people shun them because of this, but say to run a ddp which I heard also has the wrong spray pattern? Now I know the ddp is alot "cleaner" injector but how does the spray pattern come into play? How does a ddp4 compare to a 435. Which is better to have in high hp apps, dirty injector with the right spray pattern or cleaner injector with wrong spray pattern???

Depends on which injector they start with, 145 degree or 155 degree! A 370 is a 155 degree with the pops set at around 3600 but at 4200 they are much better and they are cheap.

the nozzle on ddp's is slightly longer and the washer is slightly smaller then 370's..

The injector pictured on the right is a 9mm nozzle, that is not the standard marine 370.

The injector on the right is a 7mm tip injector with a 9mm to 7mm adapter on it ! The head is reammed for 9mm so you can use either 9s or 7s with those adapters .

Don't know of a .010 washer... I run .020 washers in all the 12v's I've installed injectors in though (vs the .060 stock washers). But, yes, they do help somewhat by moving the spray pattern down farther in the bowl... But it doesn't help much if you start adding timing with the Marine nozzles.

You sure the head's reamed? Maybe he just has a stock head since it's a 1st gen... But I kinda thought the same thing till I looked closer.

Daithi2: You have any measurements as to how much longer the DDP nozzles are?
