Anyone have a link on what wires are needed coming from the ECM to make a VP engine run in a swap truck?

Im assuming it only needs 5 for the obd and maybe 3 more?

This diagram might help.

Its back up now. That should be better. You may have to down load it to zoom in on it better. I can get it to show up larger on my screen from the original image than I can by clicking on the posted one.

The ECM reads a lot of sensors, so... But those are mostly engine related, so if you have those, you should be ok.

Whats wrong buddy, give up on your project and come over to the bastartd child motor.

I tried to download it, still blurry.

Nah, just cant talk myself into a ppump on the ford. I hate towing with fixed timing. And it will be my DD so I'm gonna wimp out and VP the *****.

HRVP, TS MVP, 150's, and a vgt turbo. Just need to wire it.

i'll be doing the same, what year is the motor?

I'll send you the wiring dgram once im done.

I hope you guys are planning on using a factory harness instead of creating your own wire harness for the engine. There really aren't that many inputs that you'll have to feed it. I'll try to check into it, but it won't be right away.

I'm a little concerned about how the grid heaters will know to come on for the PRE heat cycle. They use the battery temp sensor under the driver's side battery tray. The tough part is that the PCM is connected to that sensor and communicates the temperature to the ECM through the CCD bus.

i dunno about roachie, but im havent been and wont be using grid heaters, or any of the other "optional" stuff.

Well I have the option of a 98 or an 01. Likely to be the 98.

Im not worried about grids, although I would like to keep the internal voltage regulator.

Thanks for the help.

im working with an 01, everything should be the same, but youll need the CKP wired up.

the voltage regulator is part of the PCM, for $15 wiring up an external one is a better option.

CKP is crank position sensor
CMP is cam position sensor

everyone mis-labels them both CPS
