Start/Fuel Issue?

I've got a friend with a bone stock 2003 2500. She had an issue a couple months ago where it wouldn't start. She ended up priming the fuel system and it started. and the issue went away. About a month later it did it again, she primed it, and it cranked up. We changed the fuel filter on it too once she got here.

Today the same thing happened, but this time she said it became hard to prime after about two pumps. She also said while she tried priming it, fuel was bubbling out around an electronic sensor (I'm guessing fuel pressure sensor) on top of the fuel filter.

Any ideas why this would keep happening and why fuel would leak out there while priming?

Loosing prime and getting air in the system. Air will go where fuel won't. If fuel is coming out around the sensor then air will def be going in and letting fuel drain back to the tank

Time to call MERCHANT and order a filter head rebuid kit.
