A friend of mine has a 24v that has a problem of not wanting to start all the time. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the fuel. It's has a new injector pump and starter on it. It's a manual so if you push start it, the thing will crank. Just using the key it will turn over and over with no start. His fass pump recently took a dump, so could that had been causing something to lose prime. I have an 03 CR and It will run with out the lift pump. Anyone have any ideas???

you mentioned it doesn't fire up every time,,,, when it does not start has it sat (not running) longer than say 30min

i have a similar problem with mine, it starts if it has sat for a day or overnight but if i have been driving it and it is at full operating temp then shut it off and try to start it, it want! I think it may be a fuel problem not sure. I am going to convert it to a sump with a fass system and hope that takes care of it. Anyone else has any ideals feel free to enlighten me.

On the drivers side of the motor back by the firewall there is a metal T where 2 return lines meet to go back to the fuel tank...One line is injector return fuel coming from the back of the head and the second line is return from the vp44

It causes that starting problem when the nuts loosen and suck air

Usually takes about 30min to cause a hard start

He has the fass pump, but he said it sounds like it's trying to work, but Is seized up. Fass just rebuilt the pump about 4-5 months ago. It's was doing this before the pump "seized" up. Could the pump have gradually gotten weaker?

The problem may be the fass pump but what I mentioned above can cause a problem regardless if the truck has an aftermarket pump

Same here. One of my truck does this same crap. Let it sit for more than 30-45min and it will start like a pile. Once its started shut it off fires up perfectly after that. Only when it sits. I tried tighten up my fuel lines like above they were a lil loose but didnt fix it. Would a bad or bad injector orings do this? I noticed a lil fuel on my head by one of the tubes looks like I got a leaky oring. :bang

If you pull the crosstube out and it is a leaking o-ring, then it would be really cheap to fix

On the return line part, you said you tightened it once-check the tightness again because on mine I could tighten it and then drive 20 miles and it would be loose again
