I have a Stealth Cover on my vp, and it wasn't making good connection. So, I tighten the allen screw down, and threads strip. My question is, If I get rid of the stealth cover, can I just tap whatever wire it was getting its signal from with the stealth cover? If so, Which wire is it?

Sounds like you have an old style cover that was tapped through the cover itself. The new style covers have a counter sunk nut in the back side of the cover.

Your best bet would be to buy one of the new style covers. I tried just threading the bolt through and having a nut on the bottom side of an old style cover but it eventually worked its way loose.

Yea mine was tapped through the cover itself. Im just going to tap the wire instead of using the cover.

I ran a wire with an eye connector on top of the stealth cover. Then ran a nut down on the stud to hold it on. Never had any trouble. I think the redline wire already had a eye connector on the wire that goes onto the stealth cover.
