Im starting to get frustrated. I did a test hook tonight after the axle swap. Sucked fuel pressure down to 5 psi again, then it started to break up and pop alot. Reving the truck in neutral its smooth on all setting till 4x5, 1 in 5 times it will break up at 2500 rpms, 5x5 it will break up at 2100 4 of 5 revs. The one time it shot sparks out of the exhaust, couldnt duplicate that again but still breaks up a little. I have a glacier fuel boss belt driven pump on pulling fuel from a 12 gallon tank gravity fed in 1/2 inch lines. Theres no leaks anywhere when i looked it all over yesterday. Anyone have any sugestions? I havent had any luck all year yet, id really like to see the truck run at full power once this year.

It was just updated 5 months ago and has mabey 3 hours of run time at max.

Also does the tank have the feed and return lines next to each other and if it has foam in it you need to remove it. The line being next to each other will cause the fuel to cavitate and the foam will make the problem 10 time worse. You should have the return coming in the top and feed out the bottom

Psi goes up to 25 by 1800, by 2200 the turbo spools and psi down to 5. Tank has a 8an fitting with short piece of hose for vent, Mabey a foot long. Also the returns are both on top away from the feed line, and oppisite the vent.

Check all your fuel lines going from the tank to the glacier and make sure its not sucking it shut on a bend

Also just throwing this out there but does the glacier have a return right off the pump? If it does make sure you have it going to the tank and not the injection pump, a truck will run off the return until roughly 2500 rpm's dont ask how i know:bang

There is no hard bends in the line at all. The return is a spring loaded bypass valve that is back by the tank. The line comes off the boss and has a tee in it, straight threw the tee is to the ip, the perpendicular port on the tee is the return line and it runs back to the tank, the bypass is just befor the tank. So basicly it doesnt return anything till the psi is over 25. How much vaccum does a pump pull to make 25 psi? I dont think my fuel line is that soft that a pump can suc it flat but its someting to check i guess.

i would suspect the bypass - pull the return line and see how much free flow there is, into a pail, and then rev the motor as well and check flow to the pail

I have read in other posts on other forums that the bypass failed more than a few times and they went to a proper return style regulator that could be adjusted right at the motor end of things and had no further issues

Remove each fuel line one at a time and blow out with air

You didnt say what kinda lines you be runnin - but it wouldnt be the first time a neoprene lined hose delaminated inside and increased pressure closes it off but runs fine at idle

Same with fittings in the tank - there isnt a screen filter in there by chance and it is too small or half plugged?

also make sure the vent line fitting you have out the top isnt plugged

try leavin the tank cap off and see what difference there might be

there should be no way for you to suck down a positive displacement pump like you are unless there is an issue with supply or return

Its Normal black fuel line from the local auto store. Im gonna check the vent and the bypass lik said and mabey get some different line from the tank to the pump thats braided so it cant suck shut. Also have a mallory bypass regulator from when i had the walbro on, I can run that and set my return psi anywhere i want.

the Mallory is a good regulator in my experience and is what I would use in your case
nice thing about the Mallory is it can be boost referenced as well

I would check for tank filters n fitting issues as well at the tank

Well i got my hands on some braided line, and some tips from richard at glaicer. So tomrro will tell.

Well i told rich that i have 5 psi when i start it and withing a minute or 2 it got up and sits around 10. He said right there is a problem, thinks the by pass it hung open, by a piece of rubber or something.

Well i changed my line over to steel braider line and checked over everything. Fired the truck up 13psi at idle rev it up get 22, goes back to idle 0 psi. Bang on the bypass with wrench back to 13. Kept hanging open, so i took it off put my old mallory reg on and bam 13 idle, 28 while reving. Button everything up was gonna go test it and load it for a pull, something caught my eye. Intake manifold cover gasket spewing out in three places. You gotta be kidding me, so i parked it in the garage and i guess ill have to tear it apart monday and try again. Eventually ill be able to get a real hook with the truck, but its not this weekend.
