Im looking for the cam that will benifit me the most when my truck is done. i can pick a pretty cheap big stick cam (181/220) or i have been told about a 188/220 cam. i want to know if the 188 is the biggest i can go? how much sooner is spool up? etc. i want first hand experience not which brand is better. thanks.

i have 200 injs
s357/s475 twins
studs
port and polished stage 3(being finished up)
side runner intake
drag comp
ppump next summer but for now a so vp
fass 150
110# vavle springs
HD push rods
built trans (47re)

I am building my 06' to run a large single and chose the 188/220 which was recommended to me by several! The 180/210 is the milder of the two profiles of which the 188/220 is the largest to date with fly cutting pistons. Also with the 188/220 it is suggested that you run better Pushrods and springs are a must as well as ZINC ADDITIVE IN EVERY OIL CHANGE!

the 188 you do not have to run fly cuts right? how much faster will spool up be?

On a 3 rd gen you don't but if you have milled head you will have to check ptvc as you need to check anyway though.
