how in the heck do you remove the return?

is the bolt for the rear bracket a torx or allen?

can barely see it down there

neither a 4 or 5mm allen fit so it must be torx

what size and how in the heck do you guys get to it?

(what else must be removed to get the bolt out)

thanks, don

no one has ever removed the stock return line before?

lol

come on, whats the trick?

thanks in advance

don

I did it once and it was a PITA, had to take that screw/bolt out and cut the bracket off, might be able to do it without that much work now but that was a long time ago, other than that pull the pump.

When I took mine off to do my fuel system the hardline mounted to the p-pump with one of the bolts that held the pump on its support bracket. A 10mm wobbly socket took care of it. Snaking the line out was a PITA with the head on, I had to tweak the line up pretty good.

you can barely see it

you see where i got the front one out

that is easy

the rear bolt is barely visable - its just left of the bracket that holds the injection lines together

thanks, don

that was the frt one

think this one is a torx

do they make 90° torx wrenches? (like a allen wrench)

never seen one before but i am thinking that is what it will take to get this rear bolt

what a pain

Wish I had a truck with it still in to check for you.

You're talking about this one right? I thought it tool a 10mm wrench from the bottom side but I could be wrong. I didn't use anything but a cheap cresent tool kit that I keep in my truck so it can't take something too exotic.

Sorry I guess I'm no help. Good luck

IIRC, it was a 10mm from the bottom side. I don't believe the return line comes out in once piece with the pump still attached- I've always needed to bend or break it.

i felt down there and coulda swore it was one of those welded on nutz

my bad

thanks so much guys

don

ps - guess i can forget about listing it on ebay after i remove it huh?

darn...

figured it would bring at least 75 bucks!

jk - make it a great night!

its a 8mm bolt from the bottom

was really tired yesterday and thought i felt threads down there

anyways, remove the oil line once the return is all loose and it only took a min or two to finesse it out of there

let the bidding begin!

75 cents?

anyone?

gonna put together a simple fuel system for this thing

maybe i will take pix and post em

only if you all promise not to laugh...

nite
