Ok i have a strange noise that i am trying to track down, it only does it when i am really mashing on it in 6 gear and above 60# of boost it sounds like a machine gun or maybe a belt slapping against something real fast :bang. I have a friend that his truck is doing the same thing. Anyone have any suggestions on what or where it may be coming from. I can turn down the programming some and there is no noise and i am still above 60# of boost . I have been pulling my hair out trying figure out where this sound is coming from .

not really it has happened any where from 2400rpm to 3400rpm you just really have to be in the fuel pretty hard for it to happen, Me and my buddy was racing each other a few nights back on the interstate, you know 6 gear roll on to see how close our turbo setups spooled, we were on the phone with each other and you could here the noise over the phone from both trucks.

Both trucks were doping it.... I assume you guys have similar setups as well for fuel?

yea the only thing that is really different is he has f1 injectors and i have honed ones and i have a s480 on the bottom and he has a s400 other than that we have the exact same setup.

my truck is the other one and mine started making the noise when i still had the stock turbo and added a tst, it wouldnt ever do it running just the smarty. now we both are running twins and they both make the noise running the high setting on the smarty when u mat the throttle at any rpm in 6th gear when the boost hits 60psi. if you ease into it it doesnt do it. it sounds exactly like a belt hitting against the firewall right about where my right foot is. it makes the noise about 2 times a second

maybe it's the infamous "7.3 flutter" that most modded 7.3s make... i believe it's cause of the shape of our stock turbo wheel... maybe that's what you guys are hearing?? if it's the same sound mine only does it over 35psi

I hear it. Makes me wonder if it is something in the drivetrain under the truck. Have you all gotten under there and checked everything? I'm wondering if it is something in the transmission. Is that the only time it makes the noise guys, with a load in sixth?
