Strange Wastegate Setup

Hey Guys...I was reading thru the latest Diesel Power Mag (July 09) and on page 43 there is a pic of a big set of twins (not sure who's truck they are on)
(I thought it might be Meachams truck) but thought he was running a big Turbonetic's one)

Anyway, it looks like its some sort of valve spring/valve setup. Anyone have any info on something like this for a gate? I have heard of it in the past and this is really the first time seeing a picture of it.

Thanks...Ryan

I beleive Meacham is running a set of Keating machine twins now.

I know Dennis Perrys caged fury truck has a wild big twin setup with wastegates everywhere.

we tried to get one on our race truck but it wouldn't fit. I'm not sure where it came from. it is basically a spacer between the manifold and turbo. it has a 2-2 1/2" hole in the side of it where the gate head bolts in, then the head has an outlet that you can either dump into your exhaust or just let it dump out of the short pipe it comes with... for a daily driver you would want it to go back into the exhaust pipe but for racing and pulling it is just easier to let it dump out.

You talking about a canoodler valve? LOL Darren has one too.

hard to explain but its a valve/valve spring/keeper/retainer setup (that is all you can see from the outside) and is setup as a wastegate somehow....I would like a few more details or to find some pics of one of these setups.

Darren's (the one in the previous pic) is the same style, it's just rotated. They're basically drive pressure relief valves. I talked to Keating and he says Scheid sells em.

Looks like just an engine valve, being used a wastegate.. adjust the 4 bolts under the plate to increase the spring pressure... Simple.. and good... I am curious to see how they sealed around the valve stem...
