I read a Post that Shep put up here about wanting to pull more but being out classes in the bigger pulling series: NADM, DHRA, Wideopen, and others.

This got me thinking, yeah I know scary isn't it.

Is there a interest out there for a few pulls for the everyday street trucks. You know the basically stock trucks with a few standard Modifications.

Kind of the Bracket class of Pulling? I enjoy sled pulling, but I don't feel that I can compete again even the smallest class that the Big organizations provide.

Thoughts?

Thats kind of the way it is here in Missouri with the exception of SHOW-ME SMOKERS. Everyone runs either a 2.8 or 3.0 class and thats it. Hard to compete if you have a 2.6 truck or have any fun at all if your a 2.4 or completely stock truck.

If you are looking into doing a bracket type of class or try and make it fair for even the guy who has a real stock truck then all I have to say is tire size limit and speed limit. Those two things will make the playing field very even. Not much fun to watch but very good for the average puller. JMO

Well me and a friend have began looking into a pulling organzation around home here. We have ran into the problem of people having a class but its only for 3.0 trucks!!! Then they drop the class mid-way through the season. WE are hoping to have everything ready by the start of next year!!!

We will have several classes, this way everyone can pull and have a chance to win back some $$$!!!!!

I Feel your pain. I can only pull at one track because they have been proactive about weight. They realize the newer gassers can be a bit heavier so they split the weight req. for the gas class. I can bairly get under 6800 with my beast and most run a 6500 req. for most pulls.

Well, we just run brush pulls. 99% of the rush pulls are some good ole farm boys who think they have the baddest truck around and want to show off. Its always a good time and anyone can with that!

But I dont think there is any organized "stock" class other than DHRA. I guess most organizations think that if a guy doesnt have the time or money to build a good pulling truck, even for street class, the wont have the time or money to go to pulls all over a state.

That's pretty much how our pull in Springfield, TN started. We had problems with the rules and the tech guys being consistant this past year, but as I was saying in the other thread, our local pulls really should have the same or VERY similar rules. The more consistant the rules, the more interest and participation...right? I would love to set my truck up to pull in some of the other, bigger organizations, but it doesn't make sense to for me after I figure in fuel and the distance. I just assume just try to have the baddest street truck around here for now...and trust me, mine isn't yet...but that's the fun of it to keep trying. I'll catch up to underwood tire, nail-it, and JD4440 someday!:poke:

Good so it isn't just Shep and I . I don't want to put a Front weight rack on the front of my truck....yet. But, I guess I'll just have to stick to the County Fair pulls, to be honest most of the time there the only ones I feel comfortable pulling at.

Oh and Tom, Work stock has turned into a Trailer class around here.

When I read the title I was hopin there was gonna be a vid of a sled and a truck hooked to it pullin it throught the burbs. :)

Most likely Ill only be able to do brush pulls. I just cant afford the drive time and money to run a circut. But If I had the resources I would in a heart beat!

most pulls do have similar rules to ITPA and DHRA, but there is always the run what ya brung classes and the 3 rule classes. But those types of pulls bring in more crowds because they like to see their neighbor or co-worker try their luck.

in florida we got stock turbo class and everything else class......nothing in between, so i either got to keep my factory HX35 or step up to a 3.0 charger or twins.....

You had to go and say it, didn't you! :hehe: Just watch...somebody will try it IF it hasn't already been done. :1tooth:

Yeah, here's my thought: So when you can't compete with the "standard modification" trucks are you going to try to make another class that you can get into?

I don't know?? I'm just putting it out there to see the responce. I know when I go to a Pull, no matter the size, I always wish I could throw my truck it the mix. But most of the pulls I go to I'm out classed.

that is what work stock used to be.....now its purpose built motors, custom stock turbo's, trailer queens, and insane rpm's

Exacly, Work stock is a great class. But its a tough class to compete in, unless you have a purpose built truck.

I hear that... Granted I trailer my truck to the pulls but that is because they are over an hour away... I have to take me, the wife, the dog, and usually a friend with me. Also I don't trust my truck to not break. It could be easily driven but why when I have a trailer at my disposal... The truck is driven on the street all the time. Besides I like to un-hook the trailer and park the tow rig againt the track.

I hear what your saying, And I don't blame you...but whn you trailer your truck you will hang it out a little more vs. driving it in the gate..

Honestly I don't want anyone to make a class like I'm talking about, I just wanted to see the interest in a "Pure Street" style class?
