Not able to reach 90 ft lb, bolt was stretching around 90, stretch by 0.020" !!! Not really happy about that. Is there any ARP part # for this application cause right now, I'am not really impressed with A1 technologies !!

I have never had an issue with A1, thats really strange. Its liek one didnt make heat treat or somthin.

What did your distributor say when you called them and asked about it?

Wonder what normal stretch is? All mine torqued up to 90 just fine, but I didn't put a stretch indicator on them......

Joe

I would definitely call the place you bought them from.
All of them stretched about the same?

Only 1 bolt out of 12 stretched, 11 bolts are between 2.714'' and 2.718'' and the one who stretched is 2.745''

Didn't have time to call the shop who sold them to me yet, just want to know what you guys thought about that, thanks for the replys !

Ill call the shop tomorrow.

Yes it looks like it has stretched the threaded portion real bad.

That 's not good . I would be sending the whole set back.

good catch

a lot of guys woulda bolted the pan on that thing and wondered why it went boom

Don't know, didn't mesure them when they were new

Is there anybody here who got a new set of those ? A pre-use length would be very nice to know !

If you are measuring fasteners for stretch, always measure each one before and after. Don't just take for granted that they are all the same length.

Just found out these rod bolts came from us. I will work on this first thing Monday morning to get you taken care of.

I agree, I should have mesure them before but, it's supposed to be better stuff !

I don't believe that there is a lot of people who are mesuring their brand new fasteners when they put them in ! Are you ?

Unless I find that one bolt stretch, I would probably not even wonder about stretch of those fasteners

I believe that 0.001"- 0.003" is a normal stretch for that kind of fastener but, now it's 0.030" !!

The fact is that I have 1 bolt out of 12 who is 0.030" longer !

And, I don't believe that A1 Technologies, on monday morning, said:

" OK, today, let's manufacture one cummins rod bolt 0.030" longer then the rest of em ! That could ****ed up some clown from Quebec really bad !!! "

Good catch, and I'm sure you'll get fixed up, just the wait for parts can be a pain in the a$$.
