I bought a new caliper from Napa and I cant get the pads in along with those metal clips and everything to slide together. Is there a trick or one certain way this is suppose to work? The sad part is ive done front brakes on my truck before and dont remember having this much trouble. The truck is my 02 dodge.

Man I remember the pain I had with mine just swapping pads. I had to beat the pins out if I remember right, clean the chit out of them, and grease them up really good. This shouldn't be a problem with a new caliper though or atleast I wouldn't think it would. I guess worse case check for any locking up of the pins. They were a bear to work out in my experience.

The caliper came assembled with that mounting bracket and new pins all together. The bolts that hold those slider pins on are real tight also, so I thought maybe I didnt need to take them apart.

That's what I was getting at, I would be shocked that you would but my similar problem was caused by pins being jammed up.

I see, Thanks for the help. Im gonna keep tryin. I'll get it sooner or later.

I put calipers and brackets on my 02 that I bought from NAPA. One of the brackets did not have the proper cutout in it for the metal clip to sit in so I wound up reusing the older bracket. I'm not sure if this is the problem you are having, but it definitely sounds similar.

Yeah, I definitely agree with what j-rod said..

Nick the 00-02 dual piston calipers aren't the same as the 94-99 they have their own problems. LOL

I usually take a wire wheel to the ends of the bads to get the paint off.. The paint usually causes some chitty clearance issues..
