Well aside from my starting problem. If I'm at a stop light and hit the throttle kind of fast the engine will stumble then go. I suppose this may be another symptom of a bad vp just like a lot of cranking before my engine starts. Could it be anything else?

Smoken,

Have you noticed any loss of power on the top side of the RPM range? I just recently replaced a VP due to no power above 1500 rpms. I reset everything multiple times, and just finally bit the bullet. The truck is stock save for an intake and exhaust. So, the truck I was driving had perfect starts, and would take off fine, just fall on its own face after 1500 rpm.

It has good power. Looking at my dyno graph from last weekend. It has a nice curve. It make 400hp at 2400rpm and stays over 400 through 3100rpm. It peaks about 27-2800 rpm at 437hp.
