I wish they would show the whole class, and make it more than a half hour. The super street was good. Not to dis the mod class but wasn't as good as the super street.

what happened to Erik Stacey- 321.10 and Clint Newman- 301.780 pulls, no disrespect to Roger Straley but he didn't finish third. also no disrespect to the guys from SS that pull mod but if they would have shown Erik's and Clint's pull it would have been a better show.

Erik's pull didn't count because he did his 2 tries, went back to try adn fix his problem and tried one more time and didn't make it. Erik was having throttle linkage problems and the last inch or so of rack travel wasn't there, right where the sigma needs to be. It was the 4th try when he got it to light. I talked with Gene and thought Cory and Shane and the rest of us had no problem with giving him one more try, Gene said it was in the rules. So that is why it didn't count.

great show but the announcers are awful, they don't know anything!

"Here comes destroked with the famous powerstroke diesel" De-stroked DUH

Yeah, seems like every Super Duty had a Powerstroke in it still...:bang They also said one truck deinflated its front tires, never knew that was a word, lol.

On a side note, my wife liked the CAT truck :rockwoot:

Guys - the announcer is only as good as the information that is fed to them - kinda like a computer!

We passed out information cards to the guys before the pull and asked to fill out info about themselves and the truck? We only got 15% of them returned with very little info! I tried calling the top place pullers and got a little info from them.

Which brings up a very good point for the future - if anyone wants to promote your truck and feature it (tv, radio, magazine, etc) have a small card or single sheet ready to hand them with your information and details about what a kicka## truck you built! Plus show a few photos!

We want to build the sport and highlight all of you guys but we need info to promote you!

It is something you don't think about until the show's producer calls and says "can you tell me anything about the trucks?" Since this is the first time we had TV coverage of pullers in a while it seems we were unprepared for what it takes to promote our guys - something we need to fix! Working on it for next season already!

Great show - we wanted to feature Midwest pullers!

 good post. I wished I had a dvr I would loved to seen it.

But about that card, not many people will tell you what they have done to there rig. Im just a small time puller but when some one came to me and started asking what was done, I would tell them just what I did. And they would never think I was telling the truth? I guess everyone feels the need to keep secrets in this sport. In a way I dont blame them, but we are trying to gain intrest in this sport and thats a big help in doing so.$.02

Ok thanks, I was going off the results posted on the New Era Blackout thread.

That is very true. Must have been pretty bad. Ron actually called me wanting info on some of the guys and their truck. Cause they were going to be on TV but had absolutely no info for it. So I just made some stuff up. I said Destroked had a powerstoke with 1500 hp haha just messing with you dale!!

Ditto- For years, I have BEGGED for information on these trucks. Why? To EDUCATE the announcers.
Anyone who is serious about attracting sponsors, should have two portfolios. One set up like a resume with pictures and full details, then a 1 pager, with an identifying picture of the truck, and who what when and where.

We dont need secrets, like pump timing, ccs of fuel, turbo cfm, but we need more info than "ANOTHER DODGE WITH A CUMMINS AND BLACK SMOKE, DYUH!

NADM members are given many marketing opportunities at events and behind the scenes. No other Diesel truck organization came close.

However, it is up to the competitor to take advantage of those opportunities.

Yes we would all like to see more trucks and an hour show 5 times a week, all it takes is money.
Yes Erik Stacey had difficulties, and had too many attempts, but at least we got him on the show!! And guys as much as I would like to give extra attempts, you can't change rules on the fly. (Erik did not ask for special treatment.)

Clint Newman, sorry, buddy great hook, but as it was a Diesel show with limited time, the gasser gets cut first. There were a LOT of trucks that were cut from the first show.
Hopefully someday we have enough pull to have more say over the editing.

Thanks for the hard work and getting diesels on television. It is a big help to all of us helping the sport grow! Sponsors start seeing more and more diesels on tv the more and more money they will give out.
