swapping a 12v in a 99 24v, tach Q's...

Iv read a lot about this but I still cant really come up with a clear solution. Does the 99 get a tach signal from the crank, cam or both? Whats the easiest way to get the tach working???
 
It gets it from the crank sensor. Easiest way it to buy the kit from destroked.
 
Would't a p-pump conversion be easier? Instead of complete motors?
 
Same here, block and head are both junk and we have a complete 12v setting here ready to drop in...
