Swapping Cummins into factory gas truck

Anybody ever swapped a Cummins into a factory gas powered truck? My buddy has a 01 2500 5 speed with a 360 and is thinking about swapping it out for a Cummins. What all parts will be needed in this swap? Is the input on the NV4500 the same between the two?

Would it be cheaper in the long run to sell his truck and buy a truck with a cummins in it already?

Sledpuller did it. His donor truck had a v10 in it I believe.

The NV4500 behind a 360 uses a smaller input and diff bellhousing. If it was a V-10 truck its not bad but you will kill yourself trying to get everything you need for a small block conversion to diesel.

I converted a Ram 1500 quadcab 2 wheel drive to a 97 quadcab 4x4 diesel so anything is possible but takes patience!

I thought about doing this with a F-250 that I had but after adding everything up I figured that it would more than just buying a dodge with the motor installed. The coolness factor that a cummins brings to any truck is worth it though.
