My buddy is talking about amsoil and running full synthetic in an everyday truck on the road. Is this all hype or is there something to the synthetic fluids? Will they really boost fuel mileage or is this hype?

I've ran Amsoil since 2k miles. Since my engine wasn't broken in at the time of change-over I don't know of any gains but they surely would be minimal.
I changed all my drivetrain fluids to syn at 10k. It's worth it to me considering how much the truck cost. I change my oil once a year and the oil anylasis still says keep running at that time.

i run synthetics in motor, diffs, and tranny, just like JD4440 said, as much as the truck cost i want the best for it

Havent had my duramax open to see how it is doing but opened up a gas motor that had run amsoil and it looked like it was brand new
