It had plenty of fluid but its been acting up on me, like it gets hot and sometimes get "tight" feeling ( dragging the motor down). Thks same thing has happened before to my 241, but this is a 271. The 241 actually blew up on me and I don't want it to happen to the 271. So my question is.... is both instances due to pump failure? If so, can I just replace the pump and go or should I do a complete rebuild? Thanks in advance guys. And j did try the search function first.

I would do a full rebuild, cheaper to do a rebuild than to have it come apart and wipe out everything.

Maybe try no additive next time?

Point taken sir. Last time this happened the t case blew up in Tennessee on the way home from honeymoon. It don't suck so bad this time tho. Hahahahahaha. But this still sucks.

If you have metal in the fluid, you have problems. Tear it down and rebuild it to be safe.
