How in the heck do you remove this??I took the bolt out but it does not move,is there a retaining clip on top?? I do have to remove it to get the valvebody out right??

and for future reference you dont have to take the bolt all the way out, just loosen it.

ok that worked if you dont mind how about another question or 2, the rod with the spring on it ,how does that come of? this all started because 2nd was slipping found a piece in the pan that looks like a wedge about an inch by an inchwith a notch in the narrow end and a round shape at the fatter end round part is broke .were do u find one of those and whats it called??

Sounds like you found the anchor for the band. That part goes between the band and band adjuster bolt. Suncoast sells a billet strut and anchor for about 50 bucks.

that would be the front kick down band??so i guess i didnt have to take the valve-body down?the rod also fell out ]shifting-rod] i guess never had a trans apart, does that go in a certain way??

so i have to back adjusting screw up and that anchor should go in pretty easy??this would be causing 2nd gear to slip .i had a tc-lock-up switch on it [stock tranny with edge comp on 5x5 bad idea] no more switch.

That must be the park rod. It just goes back into the tail section to ingage park. You may need to turn the drive shaft to get it back in. Also make sure the big spring goes back in the accumulator. Hope this helps

The other side to the anchor is a strap it should be flat. When they bend the band won't apply. I think the band applys on the 1-2 shift.

The proper way to tighten the adjuster bolt is 72 inch pounds and back it off about 2 full turns and tighten the jam nut. Or 1/4 to 5/16 slack when you pull the lever downward is close.
