for the last couple weeks my tachometer every once in awhile stops reading and turns the check engine light on, and than usually comes back in a minute or two and than is fine again for a couple of days. I ran the codes and the only code it has was something about ccd lost signal or something. Has anyone had this problem before? If so what might be causing it? my guess would be i need to replace the gauge cluster, but i dont know if that would be why because all the other gauges work fine and they dont act up when the tachometer does.

Not sure what the ccd is, but I had a tach issue when I did my p-pump swap and it was the cam position sensor not getting a good reading... Maybe you have a loose wire, connection or frayed wire? Or the sensor is just going out...

The code that was set was P0341 CMP signal error, any ideas of what that means?

Cam sensor going out. It's where the tach gets it's reading from. It's located in the backside of the gear housing under the VP-44. It's a bit of a PIA to change out too.

Put a new cam shaft position sensor in the truck tonight because that seems to be the most likely problem. thanks for the help hopefully the tach wont act up again so far so good.
