98.5 truck

The dash gets engine speed from the ECM over the CCD data bus, not a simple tach signal.

Sorry.

:umno: pin 45 out of the ecm, beleive it should be a gry/blk wire

That would be the wire from the sensor TO THE ECM then. Not a TACH signal to the cluster like he asked for. Because I am right that the dash gets information from the CCD data bus. Not sure where you get your info from.

dude, no, just no.

yes the DASH gets the tach signal via CCD.

hes trying to set up an aftermarket tach.

the CKP uses pins 3, 4, and 17

PIN 45 IS THE CKP SIGNAL TO THE PCM FROM THE ECM

Didn't have my schematic in front of me. I see what you are talking about now. I'm not sure what kind of signal comes from pin 45. Give it a try.

By the way Rollin Coal. Try not being so abrasive.

So you guys are agreeing?
I'm trying to set up and after market tach do you think it will work?
its a p pumped 24

try it, i was told for industrail/marine motors its the tach wire, and it matches the wiring for the dodges.

i was wondering is ther a way to run a shift lite but still use the factory tach or would i have to buy a tach and a shift lite together. any info would be apprecited
