talill iraq

Its a nice place I worked there from April 08 to October 08...Nice camp and the bus service aint bad...MWR isn't bad except for the filthy Ugandan guards...What are you going to be doing there...

i was over on ceder, i was qrf/kbr recovery escort, also did alot with the closure process, when we moved over here we lost the recovery mission, so now im just in the motorpool all day,im a 91H

I worked at Cedar for the 11 months after I left Tallil, then went to Speicher for 8 months, then spent the last 2.5 months at Al Asad...So are you down at the 3 big buildings down the street from the MWR?? That is where I used to work at when I was there...I am trying to be a little vague cause of big scary OPSEC...

there is no more cedar, closed down, im over on adder now

I know...I was sad to hear that...I loved that base...I was maintenance for 2 months and then spent 9 months running maintenance at the fuel yard...

A girl that works at the local bar/grill here in town has a boyfriend that does the Virginia to Tallil run as convoy security...I was talking to her yesterday...

i was at Cedar back in 04. THe Fuel stop used to be ut on the highway and we shut it down and gae the Highway back to the IRaqis and moved the fuel stop onto Cedar back then. I am Air Force and we filled in for an Army POL Company

How much of a ghost town is al asad these days?

Besides Baghdad...Its one of the busiest bases in Iraq...That is the jumping off point for direct flights back to Germany...The last full brigade left last week...I liked Al Asad but it kind of sucked for us contractors cause we were so far away from everything and we only have 7 computers that we can use in the MWR and the stinking ass Ugandans are in there by the hundreds...

I hated Al Asad! My platoon got so friggin lost on that place after we left AQ in 06. We didnt know
there were different bus routes.

Yeah most bases do lol...The only two sites left are Ramadi and Al Asad...Everything else is gone...

Yeah I was in Al Asad in 08/09 and got out of there right before the big teardown.

I'm down at Garryowen right now kind of in yalls neck of the wood KIND OF. It is better and worse over here as a contractor.

I have to run down there to pick up some equipment sometime in the next week or so. How much longer you around?
