Tappet cover gasket ?'s

I think I have a leak coming from the tappet cover. My question is can you change this without removing the vp and just removing the starter? Next ? what are those bolts on the starter? They look like a reverse torx bit or whatever you call them.

Also, I read somewhere about putting a cover from a 12 valve on it that has a breather built into it to help keep it from blowing out. Does anyone know anything about this and does anyone know the part #? Thanks y'all.

I know I could not change mine with the p pump in there. It was still a pain with the p pump gone. I would prepair to pull the vp but try to get it out without pulling it.

The starter bolts are 10mm 12 point.

I got a spare 12 v cover Ill make you a HE!! of a deal on.

I don't remember taking the starter off to do mike's 2001 tappet cover. They're 10mm 12-point bolts on the starter if you really need to get them off.

Leave the stater on, take the pump off, and do it from above.

Thats what I figured Thanx Jeff. Does anyone know the part number for the 12 valve cover?
