Is there a better than stock one, and is it worth it?

I'm pretty much sure that is whats clicking in my trans with the key on, and why the TC locks up as soon as it hits 3rd.

EDIT: Looking around, all I can find is a Lockup/OD solenoid. Is this what I'm thinking of?

If the lockup/OD solenoid is indeed the part I need, Does anyone know why there is a $20 difference between the 2nd and the 5th one?

Yeah, that's the only solenoid I could find that sounded like the TCC solenoid I always hear referred too. They all seem to run about 50 bucks.

The 2nd and 5th was referring to the 2nd and 5th choices on that page I linked too. 1 of them is 50 and the other is 80 bucks.

EDIT: Here's that link, don't know why it didn't show up in the first post.

Are you talking about the governor solenoid? I boughtone for my wifes truck and didn't use it. It's still in plastic. I'll ship it to ya for 45 bucks.

Nope. I'm pretty sure that's not it. Last time that went bad I lost 1st and 2nd. This time it shifts normal, but locks up instantly, and clicks even when the truck isn't running.

Thanks ghough.

IIRC, DTT and Suncoast has a conversion kit to put the GM solenoids on instead of the dodge ones. They are supposed to be stronger.
