Well the reading/research I did this winter and the few changes I made seem to work well.

When the tractors were pulling everyone said the track was "crap" and way too loose for us truck guys to do anything. I beg to differ...I had to shut it down on my first run and coasted to a stop at the gravel road at 385' which I was real happy about.

Then on my second run the sled operator wanted to slow a couple of us down and he did, got 226' out of it but the truck pulled great.

Should be a fun season. Got to see the guys from last year and see the changes made, alot of money was spent this winter!
 
Looks like you should have grabbed the next gear. I take it you hit the rev limiter?
 
It is really crazy how clean your smoke is! Looks good man! I think you should do pretty good. You northern guys are furtunate, there aren't many sledpulls around here lol.

4th gear 4 low, i think 5th is still too much. i launched at 4k, when the clutch was fully locked up it had pulled me down to under 3k and i got it back up, but pedalled it all the way down the track and still had to let out at the end.

and the smoke does clear up nice, it runs real well, but doesnt smoke enough to get good pics of videos LOL

max numbers:
1st run
EGT-1613*
RPM- 4028
Boost- 53psi

2nd run
EGT-1629*
RPM- 4044
Boost- 53.6psi
 
Wow, looks like you made some changes in the right direction. Were you hitting the Rev limiter? it was cutting out alot. You added longer blocks too right?
 
At least i beat the big ford the second time, but i just cant seem to beat you lol. But i did put out some good smoke, do you have any videos of mine?
 
man i want to go pulling but i have to wait till the end of may pretty much unless i find one sooner

No video buddy, I only got my runs this week. We will get you sorted out soon tho, get those bars made and see how it does next week...after that you might wanna start looking for some less aggressive tires you can spin easier.
 
thought you needed more retorques on the head? I can't wait to see it run, but things aren't looking too good for this week. I dont wanna break anything before TS and to come down is another $125 easy for fuel/entrance fee. I may stay home and play it safe to make sure i can still take the truck to Ky.
 
I had to get bigger pipe, the pipe i had was to thin. So im getting some 2" sc. 160 pipe.
