Im thinking of switching over to Dmax because im sick of the dodge transmissions. Im wondering what year truck i should be looking for? also what kind of power will a stock trans or a allison hold? Is there a certain hp that things get into serious trouble?

bout 100 hp extra and you need to upgrade the Allison.

im getting rid of the truck almost done with school and am getting something newer

Find anything from a late 'o6 on up LBZ or LMM and with a few minor upgrades, you are going to be a happy camper.........

Im a drag strip guy so what could i be expecting with chip, intake, exhaust, and maybe some little other things? im basically lost when comes to dmax

06 and newer will be a good choice

EFI Live $750
SC4/1057 Trans/conv. $4500
Lift Pump $260-$700 and your good for 12's
MPI Twins $4925 and your good for 12.2-11.80:charger:

wow, 12s would be awsome a fun ride compared to my 14.7. Definitely looks like im making the switch over. What about the stock injectors when would they need to go?

stock injectors are good for ~800hp with dual cp3s you will need rods, piston, studs, flex plate before you run out of injectors

you can knock of ~2000 off the tranny if you DIY. it can be doen in 1-2days/weekend by a novice mech and a ASTG manual.. faster with a couble buddies

keep ur cummins, and built the stock tranny........been there done it

I would have to agree. The new duramaxs are very nice but you take the money that your going to spend on the truck alone and put it in your dodge and you will be alot faster than 12's

You have to upgrade the trans with dodge or gm. People have been known to go 12.2's with around $750 in engine performance parts with a second gen 12 valve.. You just have to have the trans and traction to go with it.

GM's are for pretty boys and sound like they're under water. Dodges are for people with class that like a great engine. Fords don't count to me.

I have been looking around on this site for the past 2 nights and have read nothing but bashing one another. " Bringing The BEST Together" I have come to believe this is not true!
