ticking?

im cousin just bought a 07' 5.9 CR and the other night we were lookin at it and i noticed that when he turns it off it sounds horrible. like a mix of gears grinding and really loose rockers. the truck only has 1600 miles on it, is the noise just a 07' thing or is something wrong with the engine?

3 of our 07's do the same thing. think its normal?

the rattle sound doesn't bother me, but the tick/clack/rattle noise it makes at idle worries me some...

mine seems to idel smooth then jerks once in a while like it misses, oh well run it till it blows

i WAS IN THE SHOP YESTERDAY AND ASKED THE TECH THE SAME THING AND HIS RESPONSE TO ME WAS THAT I WAS SHUTTING DOWN AN ENGINE WITH ABOUT 18:1 COMPRESSION AND IT WAS PERFECTLY NORMAL..
