How much timing can be had on stock pistons? p-pump 24 valve. running 26* now but looking for a little more. Have enough fuel to burn and the turck spun at 275 feet. looking for that edge. if anyone out there can help it would be appreciated. Thanks for the help.
6x13
.093 lines and tubes
12mm cds pump
scheid custom 3x3 with 2.6 race cover
33 bfg ats
5 speed with south bend clutch and 3.55 gears

why do you want so much timing? How thick are your injector washers? How fast are you spinning it? What gear do you pull in?

stock washers, 4500 to 5000 4th/4low or 3rd/4low maybe 2nd/4high. The list is what I got inside the engine. put it up to so someone can see what I've done to it to better help me out.

i think your timing is fine.. 25-33 is like the 'butter zone' for high rpm. try thinner injector washers.. and maybe 28 degrees.. do u actually have a problem that is causing you to want to advance your timing? did you ever dyno it?

I know nobody here cares, but doesn't your fuel mileage start sinking, once you go crazy with the timing like this?

Yuper. The higher the timing, the higher the powerband. If youre not in your power band, not using fuel efficiently.

With 5spd and 3.55s 3rd low with 315s is nice and keep the rpms around 4000 to 4500 , though u have 33s yr in between on gears may try 2nd hi I did that once with 305s and still spun out

What was your issues on the pull ?

need more ground speed I think. timing is at 26* but I want to save the transmission thats why I was going to try 4th/4low. held a nice cone to about 150 feet then it went away. also thought the timing maybe low?

Air the tires to around 60 back 50 front put the hitch 25/24 and try 2nd hi ...4/4 low with 3.55s is steep thats a 9+ final some has done it

why the hell would you want the air that high in the front?

just curious.....
totally depends on the track, if you ask me....

Higher pop pressures will delay the injection event so you need more timing to compensate. Thinner washers would help keep the pattern in the bowl.

I'm at 34...

Try 35+. I rand mine at 38* and it came on hard at 2500 and pulls hard to 4000

anyone know the mm to time from 26* to 40* I checked the chart on here but it only goes to 27.5* thanks for the help guys. so 30*+ (34-38) somewhere in the middle?
