no boost & no drive pressure
Not sure what the problem is, but I'm hoping it's simply the timing has slipped...
I was on my way to get the govenor set-up as I was having idling issues, before I left I adjusted the boost elbow to look at some drive pressure differences...well on the way yo the shop the adjustment screw in the boost elbow blew out, went form 60 psi boost to 0 really quick and stopped to see which boot blew off. LOL it wasn't a boot. OOPS, guess I should have had something to keep it form vibrating out, my bad. Drove it 70 more miles (very gingerly, with no boost ro DP being devolped and a bit more heat than normal) to the shop. I had a plain 90* fitting in my truck so I swapped it out while the GSK was being worked on.
There was a point while working on the GSK that the pump nut was turned in a counter clockwise direction, didn't seem like it was enough to loosen the nut. The nut was tighten after we were all finished, and yes the idle was fixed. Still needs slight adjustment, but it's a lot better than before.
On the drive home I immediately notice I still have zero boost and very little drive pressure. I pushed it a few time and I could barely get 15-20 psi of DP and at most 5 psi boost, EGT's got to about 1400, way hot for my combo. I stopped several times ont he 2.5 hour drive home to mess with the waste gate (internal to the secondary turbo) and had no change. I got home and changed the hose form the elbow to the wastegate actuator, and no change, I disconnected the hose and plugged the hose from the fitting and capped the wastegate, and still no change. I also applied shop air to the wastegate actuator to ensure it was still working, and it does. I hooked everything back up as it should be, and still have nothing!!
What could be the cause of my complete lack of DP and boost. Could the timing have slipped so bad that is won't build any DP?
Although I must say this thing runs pretty good for a naturaly aspirated diesel.
