tire question

i have 750 hp pullin truck all last year with all terrains truck ran good this winter i bought 6 sts for it now it gets under turbo runs like crap these tires take alot of hp run 6 why only see guys with them on front ? unless it a 1000hp truck or should i try more psi in them had 50 rear and 45 front with 600lb weight on it track was a dust bowl thanks guys
 
Mabey try a lower gear, or might have to change ring and pinion a bit to stay up in rpms on the big end.
 
last year with ats i pulled 2nd hi run 4500 down track all i changed was from bfg at to sts and cant keep it lit i never would guessed they hook that hard
 
cheaper and easier to buy/sell tires than to change gears. maybe try to BFG A/T's on the back with STS on the front. See a lot of guys do that....
 
years ago people started here with sts on frt only. ive run sts on mine and it is hard to get the same gear u did with ats. u can try higher tire pressure what rpm did u carry down the track ? whats your next lowest gear and what rpms does it carry ? r u slipping the clutch long enough to keep the rpms up ?
i have gone back to courser cts biggest reason they wear better on street and sts have jumped in price big time for 17's. tired of second place and someone nosing u out by inchs or a few feet try these nothing hooks harder than a sts it the best bar none for pullin and that is it. :owned:
 
I have between 550 and 650 hp pull 4lo with 3.55 gears and i am running 6 STS 60 in rear and around 25-35 in front
 
i run 4500 2nd hi with 410 geras down track with ats now i cant keep it lit i ran a 110 housing on s400 with ats and even droped down to 100 also i could be off the cluth in 5 ft easy with ats now have ride to 10-15ft get out hole i think im going put courser ct on back sts on front my truck in 3rd low is a pig

Dane when did you put duals on your truck? What happened to you at TS? You were the only person that pulled worse than me.
 
Take it easy on me!!!! they said my hitch was like a 1/4 " high so i had to let my rear tires down to like 35lbs and you can guess whathappend. got a lil bounce. and i put duals on Thursday, where were you tought i would see you at St. Rose??
 
What is the deal with you MO boys, do you only have one computer or something? LOL

Haha yeah we have a total of 3 computers at my house also just always forget to log out on all the other sites so just use one here and we still can't catch Dan's post count with 2 people on one name lol. As for the STS's problem you might have a problem somewhere else I mean I seen some guys with alot meatier tires like blowinsmoke2 truck be fine. They defiantly hook harder but you have plenty enough RPM's and hp to get them tires rolling. I run all 4th low or 2nd hi with 4000 Rpm's and 60-65 in back and 25 up front and have no problems getting under the turbo. Could it possibly be you have a problem somewhere else? Dane runs 6STS and thats on a VP truck turning 3600RPM with 3.55 gears.
