this past sunday i finally got my truck hooked to the sled after a long year of building this truck. i was extremely pleased at how well it performed. i did a total of three pulls. the first pull i launched in 3rd and it broke the tires loose instantly and held 4000+rpm the whole way down. pulled 185 feet. the track was absolute crap.it has about 4.5 inches of really loose sandy kind of clay. the second and third pull i knew my truck had enough jam to launch in 4th. same thing had insane wheel speed but only pulled 200ish.... now i dont have a locker nor do i have weight on the front end. i run cal-tracs for traction bars as well. i have a set of blocks i have sitting at home that iam about to install. im running 285/75/r16 toyo m55 tires that are litterally slicks. i roasted the tires on the pull there. i literally left rubber on the dirt and my tires were very hot to the touch. what kind of tires would you guys recommend running? how much weight in the front also should i put on? i know i have enough motor to do the job. videos and pics will be posted. just waiting for a friend to upload them off there camera. thanks!

if you break them loose too bad you will never regain traction. I would try riding the clutch out a little further to get it moving before you pour the coals to it.

Dont forget that when/if you had lockers to it ,and throw more on the truck thats gong to eat up some power. BUt if most of the tracks you will be pulling on are that kind of dirt compound i would diffently look into a decently aggresive mud terrian.

Have you played with tire pressure at all? On a buddies 2.4 truck we gained about 20 feet from 1st pull to 2nd pull just by dropping pressure down another 10 or 12 psi
