Torque convertor stall speed

I am needing a higher stall in my convertor which is a 5 star ats convertor. I can't get it to build any boost on the line to launch with. Do you guys have any suggestions at what I should get it put to. I mainly drag race the truck. I am thinking about going around 1600-2000 stall maybe?? Another question to is what is your guys opinion on maybe a different brand convertor? I like the ats one so far but i've talked to a few guys that race alot that say after awhile I won't be likeing it.

Call Phil Taylor ( Slowpoke ) 770-318-8696 of Diesel Performance Convertors......He's in Garmon's shop, set up and rolling....

He can refresh and change stall...Anything you need man!!!

when I ran ats when my truck was a 2.8 all i did was call ats and they sent me a new converter with a higher stall speed once i sent my original back.
 
They said they would do that for me as well as long as I was the original purchaser of the tranny and convertor. Which I wasn't so I gotta pay. Which I completely understand wanting to get paid for there work, I'm not worried about paying for it all. They really don't want very much to change it, I just want to make sure it is the best route to go.

Yes Phil can change it!!

And Believe me!! You want someone to change a few things inside that ATS unit (not ats)....Having a convertor shop at Garmon's and getting to see and learn the difference inside has been EYE Opening!!!!

Get Phil to do it!! You won't regret it!!!
 
You could try PTC.. They are in Alabama.. been using them for years. Best guys I have ever dealt with, Talk to Kenny, ptcrace.com is the website.
 
Goerend would be a great guy to deal with. He has been modifying the stalls of convertors for a long time.
