Hey, I am new around here as this is my first post. I am looking into buying/building a set of traction bars. My truck is a weekend street driven play toy that also get raced and pulled. I know a lot of high HP guys that drag race are buying the caltracs with good results and I know they work great on cars but what about for pulling? I was leaning more towards the "lazar smith" type bars but I really dont like the look of really long ones. I would build my own if i did those. What are the advatages/disadvantages over each of them?

Also as far as the bar type, what is better about the longer length? My truck is lifted 4.5 inches so I figure its a that much more important.

If you want it to bind up, deflect the links and end up storing more spring energy in the links than the spring ever stored up, while simultaneously riding like crap make the links as long as possible, and run them horizontal, or even down a little in the front.

Otherwise, you'll want to match the arc path the link follows to that of the axle so that it controls wrap without effecting suspension movement.
