I have been looking at different ladder/traction bars for my truck and was wondering which type, style, and make was the best and easiest to install? I really don't want to have to weld anything just bolt on if at all possible. I want them to be functional for everything I do and not be a problem or cause a problem when i am hauling heavy loads with my truck pressed down. Just looking for your opinion on this one and see what anyone else was using or had experience with. Thanks for any advice on this one.

Call Jesse with Farmboy Fab, talk with him, tell him how you use the truck and buy what he recommends. I don't know jack on traction bars, he does.

i tried to put some pics of my bars on here but cant figure out how to resize the image. they were quite simple and could be completely bolt on but i choose to weld them on. know how to resize a picture?

Right click on the image & resize.

download a program called "irfan view" and you can resize your pictures using that, it makes it a lot easier.

We got CalTracs from Guy Tripp at socaldiesel and they work well. You can adjust them in a couple minutes for street driving.

i dont touch mine, and no pre load, every truck that i have seen pre load them, has lunged. i would put them under the truck and forget they are there.

What about towing? Say I have a heavy load on the bumper pull....do I need to crawl under and adjust?

Thanks
Rick

Nope. No adjustment necessary, just set them with zero preload & run them. I've towed 15k#+ with mine already & the truck felt solid, loved it. I leave my blocks in too, just raised them up.
