Hey guys/ gals I need some help. When I brought my 02 dodge the person before me had a b&w ball in the bed along with a 7 way flat connector they mounted in the bed. Upon checking the wiring I only have 6 wires going to the plug instead of 7. can someone tell me what all 7 pins are for (turn, brake, etc.) and where they are located if you look at the plug? Going to get a trailer and just want everything to work before I haul it home.

I bet the one that you are missing is the back-up wire. Very common for it not to be installed. Use the links above to find out what proper wiring should be, but do NOT trust the colors they use, while they should be universal, most places have their own system and they are rarely the same colors they should be, but they are run properly.
correct on the wire. they color matched also. all of them seem to working correctly. I guess the person I got it off of tied right into the factory plug by the reciver now all I have to do rewrap the wires. Thanks for the help
