Is there a trick that I am unaware of to push this baby back in?

Here is the story, I was pulling off the AC lines on my truck and accidentally dislodged my dipstick tube, resulting in huge oil loss. I went to push it back in, but it dosent seem to want to push in,, am I missing something here???

I don't know what tranny your's is but if it's a 48re there's a rubber sleave that goes in the tranny that the tube slides in. Pull it out, clean it,spray silicon on it and the tube will slip right in. "Unless you rammed it down in the tranny" The 47s use a O-ring. It looks like a lot of fluid but it's only about 1-2 qts. "Depending how level the truck was"
Next time park the truck up hill.

There is also a bracket that goes to one of the bellhousing bolts. It is possible you bent the bracket and that is why the tube won't go back in...

Yeah it is a 48re. I will try that,, thanks alot.. sure makes a mess,, and it was level too

I think that the bracket was cut by the fellows that last had the tranny out

On the 48re the tube has to be straight where it goes in the tranny. If it's cocked too much one way it may leak. You may want to get a new sleave from the dealer if your's is very old. "They're cheap"
If the bracket is cut I would get a new dip stick assy too.
