tranny leaking

on my 2001 dodge truck with an automatic tranny the sifter has started leaking where it goes into the tranny, the truck was already at the gm dealer getting painted front a wreck that happened, but the guys there said you have to go inside from the valve body to fix the problem have any of you ever had this to happen it really not been long since the rebuild but i know it out of warranty

The seals will occasionally leak. They are driven in from the outside of the case so it is possible to do without pulling the valve body out, although it is easier to just drop the pan and pull it out first.

A tranny shop should have the seal you need.

so its not a big deal, the body shop guy at the dealer which it was a chevy dealer said their guys didnt want to touch it. guess i will call my tranny guy tommorw

Not a big deal, just more of a hassle.

there is a shifter shaft seal tool for the dodge 727.. works on the 47re too... like a champ then install seal with socket
