Tranny Problem

I think my tranny is shot. I just got home and tryed to back in the driveway and no reverse. No forward gears either.. I looked under and fluid is just pouring out and by the looks of it was doing it for awhille the whole underside is coated with oil... What could be wrong??????

The seal probably went bad. Have it towed to a good shop.

Well it turned out to be one of the studs on the tourque converter broke of and cracked it.. It's going to be $900 to fix it...

Going with a stock replacement or something better?

Have you already done it?
You would do yourself a favor to put in a built converter at this time.

Jon Faubion can hook you up with something for about what you're gonna pay for stock, and way better.
The updated Ford converters with triple disk are Ok for moderate power levels, that's what I'm using now, but a built converter is way better.

I would have Jon's UCC converter in my truck but I was in a pinch and HAD to go out of town, so I got raped at Ford.
It's doing ok for now, but I don't know how long it'll live at my power level.
