there are no cheap upgrades that im aware of.... check with redline diesel power, or gorend transmissions
 
Go to the junk yard, Sell the truck, Buy a Kia. That is just the way it is. Join the crowd. No matter how you look at it there is no cheap fix.
 
Get a VB first, just that can help the rest of the stock internals WAY more than most people think!
 
is it slipping yet? if its a good stock unit, just put a tq converter and valve body in it for about $1500. That should make it last for about 50K at 400HP.

but the best would be leave it stock, until you have $4000 to drop for a Trans that will hold long term.
