I just pulled my 47re out and got it to the shop that is building it to the max, and i have a few questions. do they offer performance parts for my transfer case, and if so should i build it? and should i go ahead and replace the flex plate with a billit plate? any input would be great, Thanks

Stock transfer case can handle an insane amount of abuse and the flex plate is a toss up. Depends how much racing and abuse your going to put it through.

You will definately want to do something with the flexplate. Either laminated or billet. Either one will hold a lot of power. I have a laminated in mine and no problems yet.

Like Tyler said, the T-Case will hold a lot of power. Run it until it breaks and put another one in it.

IMO pull the transfer case apart. New bearings gears, and chain (if stretched) if it needs it. Mine got a complete rebuild. Chain and gears were worn pretty good.

Now on the tranny have them install a 48RE VB. You have more tuning capabilities with a 48RE VB. JMO

Tyler you get that TV cable adjusted correctly?

Ya. Got it tuned in and it's shifting sweeter than ever. I think my lock up issue may be fixed or reduced as well but I dunno. To hot to tell really.

How much difference is there in after market gears and oem gears ? is there more failures. Who makes the best billet shafts ?
